Five Minute Literacy Box™ review in Teach Primary magazine back to school edition

We’re excited that Teach Primary magazine chose to write a Five Minute Literacy Box review in their back to school issue. When learners struggle to master basic phonics and keywords they may need support to prevent loss of self-esteem and engagement. These learners may struggle for a variety of reasons. These can include speech, language and communication needs, socio-economic disadvantage, undiagnosed dyslexia and other neurodiversity.

In 2023 we asked schools how we could improve the Five Minute Literacy Box™ and we received some amazing feedback. Schools told us that they absolutely love using the resource, that they enjoy the simple approach and effective teaching methods. They also said that students enjoy the structured routine and taking ownership of their learning. Most of all, everyone loves seeing their progress session by session. However schools also told us they wanted more structured assessments. This would save even more time and help them to prove the effectiveness of their support. They also asked for more key words in line with those used in class.

That’s why we updated the Five Minute Literacy Box™ assessments, Resource Book and sight word resources to make them more relevant and easy to use than ever. The Literacy Box has the same effective multisensory principles and structure, but now offers greater depth of learning. The fun activities incorporate evidence-based specialist teaching methods to maximise learning of sounds and even more useful key words from the English curriculum.

Read the Five Minute Literacy Box review in Teach Primary Magazine. It explains why the intervention is a worthy addition to a school’s repertoire; why it is so easy to use and track progress, and who is suitable to use the resource.
