A Wave 3 Literacy Resource

New Research* shows that children using the Five Minute Box as a Wave 3 intervention made over 3 times the average child's gains in reading. Some children demonstrated 8 fold gains. Follow up evidence shows that the children who took part in the study continued to make good progress after completion of the intervention due to increased levels of confidence and self-esteem.

Nottinghamshire County Council
The Five Minute Box was trialled during 2004/5 as part of a Wave 3 initiative in Nottinghamshire. It is now recommended by Nottinghamshire Local Authority Inclusion Support Service for use in schools. The feedback from schools has been very positive and the children enjoy working with the box.
